time of year would be in December or winter time and try to avoid around Christmas or on or before New Year's. I'm gonna go Jan 2nd - 6th and the prices were pretty good cuz immediately after new year's the prices drop a lot.

I went to a site called www.travelnevada.com you can fill out ur address and other info and get a free nevada visitors guide that tells you about places to see and things to do while you're there.

I plan on staying at Circus Circus. I've looked up a lot of info on the hotel and it seems like a good hotel for kids and for adults if you like the circus and theme parks. It's also a cheap hotel to stay at.

I've looked around at a lot of sites and the best deal I've found is at www.orbitz.com

If you need any more help I'd be glad to help you out just email me.

Hotels...go to the hotel web sites and be place on their mailing list. You will get good deals.

When to visit.. I go all year round, I live close enough to go 4 to 5 times a year. I am going again in december a week before christmas, the only thing most of the shows go dark, but the room rates are cheap.

Hotel to stay for kids, my kids like Excalibur Hotel, MGM,
and Mandalay Bay for the pool.

There is the dam about a 1/2 hour away, this is a short tour

Your best bet is to consult a travel agent with these questions. However, watch when you do go because some of the pools close. The Flamingo is kid friendly with a great pool. We go in the end of August for a week. Pools are open, no conventions going on, pretty cheap. You will want to do the Hoover Dam tour with the kids too. There is also an indoor waterpark off the strip.

Mandalay Bay is supposed to be fun for kids. Greatest pools in the town. I was there in July and the weather was soooooooo hot it was unbearable. Around Thanksgiving I'm sure there are tons of people visiting, and the weather might not be hot enough for the pool. The Hoover Dam is something to see, and it's closer to get to than the Grand Canyon. I was not there with young ones, and don't know that they'd care much about anything there.

I don't know much, but I think Circus Circus is a casino with kid friendly things to do. It's a little further down the strip, but not way out there. The grand canyon is a few hours drive, make sure you can do it in a day.

I don't have any ideas about the best times to go....I think it's busy year round.

Circus Circus is kid friendly and the cheapest on the strip. There is an amusement park inside and free Circus shows. Excalibur is also good for kids. Excalibur has one of the best buffets.

Southwest airlines has best rates for flight, I found booking flight and hotel separately is cheaper.

Book your hotel at their web site, if you sign up for their e-mail and players card you will be sent their specials.

the grand canyon is 4 hours away.... i wouldnt call that nearby, maybe compared to niagra falls it is. but i dont think a 3 year old would have too much fun. there's too much stuff around, lights, sounds, cigg. smoke everywhere...
it might be a sensory overload for him/her.
there's a zoo on Rancho. they might like that. that's all i can think of.
