I haven't tracked that down myself. A source is the book "Hollywood Babylon", but a lot is conjecture without true supportive evidence

Homosexuality is not a perversion or fetish people! It annoys me that when you brought up young boys, people started commenting on the homosexual elements in his films. Hitchcock told a love story in all his films. These love stories just happened to involve two men (Rope, Strangers on a Train) and two women (Rebecca).
But to answer your question, this is the first I've heard of it. However, you would be surprised at some of the famous names in Hollywood who did in fact turn out to be "perverted"... Some are very high profile people, and the public has no idea.
So yes, it's always a possibility. But I don't think the gay elements on his movies make him a "pervert".

Sorry, hon, but you'll have to be more specific re "perverted." That could cover the gamut from a pickle fetish to breaking out in a rash when a large, furry dog walks by.
Hitch loved blonde actresses, hated police and loved food, but I'm not aware of any specific "perversions."

I don't think he was perverted but he was a man definatly ahead of his time. A shower murder scene in which the victim was naked(Psycho), instances of rape(Marnie), murderous sexual predators(Frenzy) and hints at possible homosexuality(Rebecca and North by Northwest). Yes, reading this would make it sound like he was a pervert but if you actually watch the movies then you will notice the scenes are far more tame compared to today's standards.

Not at all. He was a brilliant man with an odd sense of humor. Far to superior to be "perverted." Watch the TCM channel tonight. They are showing one of his most memorable interviews. It should be on 11PM eastern standard time.

Hitchcock was a whack job. Don't get me wrong, when asked what my favorite movie I always answer Vertigo. I think you have to a some what nutty to be able to come with stuff like Birds.

I have read numerous reports that state that he was. I believe there was a book that was published in the 70's that talked about him.

I always suspected that he was a "closet queen" just like J. Edgar Hoover.
