My daughter lives out of state (North Carolina), I live in New York City and I am trying to find out information on how to get visitiation or custody. We was never married.
Where do I call or go to find this information out . thank you so much

Yes u can get visitation. Do u pay child support? You need to establish paternity via a DNA test then set visitation times. If she is willing to then this will make it much easier. If not you will need to hire a lawyer for sure. As long as you have proved that you are the father and are willing to take care of the expenses in traveling the courts should not have too much of a problem. However they will look at your personal life. So hopefully you have that in order. Its good to se a father that wants to be a daddy. Good Luck

Try to work it out with the mother. If that fails then you have to take it to court. I believe you would need to file paperwork in the state where the child resides.

Of course you're entitled. You need to hire an attorney to process the paperwork though. Good luck. And congrats for wanting to be involved in your daughter's life.
