We didn't invade Iraq to get bin Laden. Osama bin Laden had nothing to do with Iraq. Saddam Hussein didn't even like him.
We invaded Iraq because Bush thought we could establish a pro-American democracy in Iraq. This in and of itself wouldn't be a bad thing, but in such a place it is utterly impossible, and Bush should have known that. He was thinking it would have been good to have an oil ally which we could have more control over than, say, Iran or Saudi Arabia, or even Venezuela.
After 9/11 and the (at the time) success of the Afghanistan invasion, Iraq was a fairly easy sell to many Americans, especially when Bushed waved the threat of Weapons of Mass Destruction in our faces. Arab-nophobia was in full effect, so in we marched.
Bad idea.
Now, as far as bin Laden goes.... He's no doubt hiding next to Hussein's WMDs!!!!
and still breathing...

I dont think that bin laden is really dead.. the us is just going to keep telling every1 that because they realyl have NO idea whatsoever where he is. I mean he could have died years ago they will never know.. they are just trying to keep everybody at peace and not frantic.
