The French and Indian War led to the British Empire having an enormous debt, and they wanted American Colonies to contribute to pay the debt. They started to put taxes on Colonists -such as the Stamp Act, which required all printed material to be taxed and have a stamp on them-. Americans refused to be told what to do by a King three thousand miles away from home, so they boycotted the tax and actually got rid of it. Then, the British started interfering in the American trade by placing higher taxes on trade. Angered citizens revolted and did things like the Boston Tea Party which angered the British. All this led to war, and eventually to independence. This is American Revolution in a microscopic-size nutshell. Read up on the French and Indian War (Seven Years War alternately), and the economic effect it had on the British Empire. The cost of this war, and the need to maintain the Empire caused the extra taxes to be placed on the American Colonists. The Grenville Administration changed many British policies and tried to enforce the Proclamation of 1763- which set up new governing bodies in the lands newly acquired from France, and also had a provision to stop settlers from the colonies from expanding west into the acquired territory.

The first event in the chain was the French and Indian War because that led to the huge British debt. The debt led the British to levy taxes on the Americans, and so on, so forth.

yes,it all started with 13 british colanies which washington was the genral of the colanies in united states.one day the british colanies were getting very fed up of how there empire was treating people and demanding taxes and goods to be deliverd.so the 13 colanies broke up in anger and declaired war on there own country(the war of independence) at the time britain already had canada (a part of there collanys)which they use to use as a kind of a base camp.also at the time the colanies were litraly getting eniollated,so then spain got involved for the money and saw it was a great opertunity for there econmay, also then france got involved and declaired war on britain as they saw it was an oppertunity to get back on the british.local millita from the citys would often rise up and fight the british red coats.so eventually the british were getting short of troops so they got a huge back up from britain, ready to wipe out the collanies, thousands of ships full of troops, settlers, workers, and sailers.but at the time france also got a powerful navy so they knew what the british were going to do,they set up a huge naval force to wipe out britains ships on the way to cannada.and after that happened britain gave in to the war.

The British could have done this or that differently and things could have worked out a little differently a little sooner or a little later, but it was inevitable. America was going to be governed by Americans.
