A natural boundary is geographic- in olden times, they used natural boundaries like rivers, mountains, or forests to separate towns or cities or nations.

A political boundary is not physical, but drawn up by human beings. Currently, most nations throughout the world are separated by political boundaries. Most states in the U.S. are also separated by political boundaries. The only thing that makes them boundaries is that we say they are.

What separates Mexico from America is a political boundary. You cant actually see a line in the sand. Its only there because the 'politics' of the two countries say it's there. "You cant come here because I will poke you with a stick if you try."

What separates America from Europe? An ocean! Thats a natural boundary. "You cant come here because you will either drown or get eaten by a shark if you try. I will lean on my stick and just watch."

Still unsure? Just watch the animals. They will ignore the political boundaries but obey the natural ones.
