I believe that integration means that people of various cultural groups intermingle or live within the same community,
I believe tha homogenization means that each individual culture loses its identity and becomes part of a larger group with very similar norms and mores.

Very simply homogenize...homo...to be the same..so that would mean an effort to make everyone the same...not going to happen.
To integrate would be to bring people together under a common concept of rules and community. Individuality is permissible as long as it doesn't drastically violate the boundaries of the group.

Say you have the family over for dinner. Uncle Steve has a mustache and so does Aunt Kim. Uncle Kelley, Cousins Zach and Chase have beards. Grandma Smith and Cousin Barb are missing their teeth. Dad Michael and Grandpa Smith have ear hair braided down to their shoulders. Aunt Diane, Aunt Janice and Cousin Alicia have all had boob jobs and are sporting DDD's. If Mom,Theresa sits everyone down around the family dining table and serves them Thanksgiving dinner and everyone eats until they want to hurl and go home fatter and happier, that's integrating. You are gathering a variety of people and giving them a place at your "table" just as they are.
If at Christmas, Mom Theresa sits them all down, gives everyone a shave including the braided ear hair, pulls all the remaining teeth, and pops all the boobs, dresses all of them in matching Santa outfits including hat's and THEN serves them Christmas dinner, that's homogenizing. You are gathering a variety of people, changing them so they are all uniform, and then letting them sit at your "table".
BTW, the conversation at Thanksgiving was a lively discussion about religion where the many varieties of religion of the guests were shared. Everyone agreed that faith is faith and should be honored with respect.
The conversation at Christmas was a simple one. Mom Theresa said her religion was the only right and true way and everyone agreed. Then there was silence.

There are certain things expected of a society, any group of people. For instance, in my mind to be integrated to American society, you should speak English and engage in meaningful interaction with other members of society. You do not all have to be alike, so you cannot tell any difference. But, you should be able to interact. You also need not abandon your traditional ethnic practices or language, but just be aware of the local customs.

integrating people is allowing multiple ethnicities to live among each other but retain their cultural differences, homogenizing them is to blend them to where there is no more cultural distinctions

It is all just an excuse to take those that have and give "it" to those who don't. Basically all it does is rob the great of their greatness and reward those that haven't achieved at all into on low common denominator

when you integrate, you bring them together in groups that maintain their ethnicity. when people are homogenized, they are mixed and interbred untilk there are no longer ethnic differences
