Regarding Sen. George Allen, even if he "would" have made up the word macaca, isn't it still name calling? Why is lying an acceptable Republican value?

What kind of constituants does he have that aren't offended by his behavior?

Isn't it time to take the garbage out?

Kermit, I agree we all say stupid things, but we aren't all Senators. I say, "Lead by example."

Yes, that bothers me, but the thing that bothers me most is his "performance record", as another poster suggested we should vote on.

He's not the brightest guy, nor is he the most ambitious. He has no major accomplishments except for him using his name recognition to get elected, as well as enacting about the least-risky legislation possible.

I'm almost glad he said what he did, because it calls him out for the idiot he is, hopefully before the Republican media rubber stamps him as an acceptable candidate. And you know, he'd probably get elected, because there are too many people in this country who vote on party lines and not by looking at the real issues.

But to answer your actual question instead of rambling on, yes, it's still name calling (and about the worst lie I've ever heard).

Allen is a fool, but it sounds like Webb was calling people by the N word as well. So we have a Republican Senatorial candidate that insults his opposition by calling his spy a monkey, in north african french, and Webb, a Democrat, who is apparently accused of calling somebody the N word as well.
All I know is that Mike Steel likes puppies and is way cooler than Cardin.
If you don't live near here that might not make much sense.

Look I'm a democratic son of the commonwealth of Virginia. Of course he didn't invent the word and I am much more troubled that he came up with such a feeble excuse.

But let's not pretend that these sorts of comments and behaviors don't occur in nearly every state in the Union. I'm not saying they are right, but if we made our voting choices based on all the butt head things our politicians say...well we wouldn't have any.

So let's move beyond the needs to be PC and vote for the man based on his performance in office and not the stupid things he has said. We all say stupid and offensive things.
