So there is this business called "Pure air products" and it has the same number as us. At first I didn't know, I just thought people kept mixing up the numbers, so I searched it on google and sure enough. But anyways first a school called for us to make a donation, then someone called about selling business cards, and than the other day a gas station called about one of "Pure air products" trucks leaving the gas station without paying for gas. At first I didn't care, but now it's all the time. I keep telling them that this isn't a business, but they keep calling. When I searched it on Google, I tried to email them, but it wouldn't let me. If I do email them, what do I say. YOU NUMBER STEALER YOU!! :)

You can get caller ID and not answer if you don't know the number, or have them leave a msg.
It think it'd be fun to mess with people.
Ring,
(Hello)
Yes, I need 500 cuft of Liquid Nitrogen delivered.
(I'm busy, can't you come pick it up).
What? No I don't have a truck.
(Well, then someone has a problem, don't you).
Let me speak to your supervisor.
(He's on the floor drunk. Can you call back when he's sober.)
No, I demand to speak to someone of authority.
(Look, it's been fun, but I gotta take care of some customers, good bye)
Soon, they out business, then you would have your number to yourself.

Call the phone company and tell them what's up. I'm curios, are the area codes and everything the same? So if you called the company from your house, would it connect back to you or to the company?

You definitely want to talk to the phone company about this problem. How can Pure Air Products be getting any calls for their business if the phone rings at your house? They didn't exactly steal your number, because numbers are assigned by the phone company, but clearly someone screwed up. You may want to think about getting your phone number changed, even though this is a hassle. You should insist that the phone company do this for free if they are responsible for this mixup. Good luck. This sounds annoying.

Exactly the same number including area code, prefix, and four digit #? The telephone company switch prevents this. If it is not, then they have serious problems. It is more likely that the "pure air products" company may have recently changed numbers but all of the print ads, telephone books, websites, etc... have not yet been updated.

Contact your phone company. I would just have my number changed and go on about my day.

Have you tried calling your telephone company to find out why they issued the number twice? Is there a different area code maybe?
