I was thanked for suggesting the item and the consumer bought several. Every week thereafter he came and bought several more.
The item I suggested was something that saved him money and came out of an Army commisary. It was consumable and he was very thankful to realize there was something less expensive that provided more of what he enjoyed for less money. It made me feel like I really helped someone and I did, but he was really excited and happy about it. That is what made it my most successful sale.

Depending on your experience you may want to use an example of how you sold an idea rather than a product. If you have the ability to influence a client's decisions or way of thinking then you should be able to set virtually any decent product for a reputable company. My company often uses a very similar question, which is asking the interviewee to describe a time they were able to change the course of a situation that was going in an no win situation.

Successful sales comes from constantly "delivering" better "services" to the customer and working together in a "team" to push sales up.
Because you know logically in the end what makes us reach the sales target are the customers who purchased out products. And to influence customer's to buy our product is by providing them "professional" and "reliable" service.

Try to remember an example of your experience...

focus on a story that shows how you identified the customer, cold called or approached the customer, sold the product and price and closed the deal. the key is to show you are well rounded and able to handle the basic skills of selling. remember selling starts when the customer says no. Until then you are just an order taker.

I would describe how someone came in not knowing for sure what they were looking for, and you found for them. Turn a negative into a positive!! Good luck!!
