Ok I'm 19 years old and have read a lot about Endo. I started my period when I was 11. It seemed to be going alright until I was 15. That's when I first started getting migraines and irregular periods. My periods kept coming later and later, I've gone 6 months without a period before. Also the pain was SO SO SO bad. It wasn't just cramping, it was ugly, stabbing pain in my vaginal area, back pain, leg and thigh pain, nausea and throwing up, diarrhea. I went to the gyn for the first time around a year ago, pap smear was ok except for a bacterial infection which i got medicine for. I got on birth control even though I wasn't sexually active. The birth control did regulate me but I wasn't comfortable taking it, I felt like it was just covering up the problem and not taking care of it. so I quit taking it around march. Around a month ago I had sex for the first time and towards the middle I felt pain, like in my uterus area, a lot of pressure. The back pain has always been present.insight?

I also wanted to add more stuff. Ran out of space. So like I said the back pain is almost constantly present, lower back pain, takes turns on each side. some months I'll cramp for 2 weeks at a time, PLUS the time I'm on my period. I'm not a huge fan of doctors and medication, I also don't have insurrance. I took prescribed medicine for my migraines but it made me feel AWFUL so I stopped it. I got accupuncture treatments and it HELPED my migraines, I went in there one day with a migraine for 2 straight weeks, after the treatment I walked out migraine FREE! Just wanted to note that. I know pain during sex for the first time is normal, but I'm really not sure if the pain I felt was normal. It was like pain in my uterus, like a really intense, quick, stabbing cramp. I felt A LOT of pressure. I also get A LOT of bladder spasms. I had an ultrasound done and everything was fine with that. I guess I'm just looking for anyone that could tell me if it sounds like I have endo because of symptoms.

Go to http://www.endocenter.org/pdf/2006ScreeningEducationKit.pdf and check out that free kit. There is a self-test in there and a pain journal you can bring to your doc. The only way to diagnose Endo is via surgery, but this can help. Also - for accurate and reliable free info, be sure and visit:

See the regimen used at the Atkins Foundation in NYC as described in Dr Atkins' Health Revolution. He claimed to get excellent results with it. Other useful info and discussion and advice can be had in: Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine - Murray & Pizzorno; and Prescription For Natural Cures - Balch & Stengler. Hope it helps!
Good luck!
