Oh, we pretty much know where most of it is.

But that probably isn't what you mean.

We have lots of sonar maps of the ocean bottom, but not enough detail to say we know what is there, most is pretty much a mystery. What goes on just below the ocean floor is a matter of much speculation.

On land, there are areas that we don't have information on, many of them have known humans in the past, but they are forgotten.

New things are being discovered all the time.

In 1969, I was looking for a lost horse, and came across a small canyon that did not show on the USGS maps. Nobody in the area knew about it, but there was the ruin of a wooden cabin there, and the site of a prehistoric village near it. So people had known it but it had been forgotten (this in Tehema County, California).

So if you crave to discover things, fear not, we don't know nearly as much as we like to pretend, there is still a whole lot out there to discover.

Hi. There is a BIG difference between discovering and understanding. We have satellite images of 100%. In my estimation we understand less than 1%.

'Discovered' is open to interpretation. It could be close to 100%, or just the very thin crust on the surface and the atmosphere.

There's the top couple of inches, and a few wells, but most of the 4/3*pi*r^3 is still left.

More interestingly, confluence.org demonstrates that most of the land surface is free of obvious signs of humans.

Of the surface? 99.9%

Otherwise, I'd say 30% tops. The oceans are vast!
