It depends on how often "one joint is being passed around". (You know your usage of marijuana).
Looking at anywhere from four to five weeks.
If the information is just for knowledge fine. If you are asking the question, because you are expecting to have a drug test performed for your job or other reasons, you will fail the test.
I have patients who came to me and said they smoked a joint and was picked out by a computer for a random drug test related to their job. They wanted to know what they could take to pass the drug test.
I told them to purchase in a health food store, "Golden Seal", and take it either in liquid form or capsule form every day before the test. They all came back to me and said, "they passed the test".
Of course this was a urine test.
You are up a creek, if they perform a DNA test with a strand of your hair. As this technology can tell if you smoked marijuana during any period of your life, even if you are 100 years old.
Excuse my english, my primary language is French.

Well having been a major pot-head in the past (I have stories... Oh Gawd!), I think I can answer your question.
It all depends on the amount you ingested.
However if you plan on having drug tests performed, and you wish to avoid all traces whatsoever, a period of 2 months (seriously) is enough to have any trace disapear from your blood stream.
(getting that damn stench off your hair and clothes is another story!)
Some will say it takes much less time to get the stuff out of your system, and they are right; it depends on your metabolism, your frequency of use, and the amount you consume. But in laboratory circumstance (?), if you smoke rather regularly (as little as once a week) your blood with keep some of it longer in your system and will take time before being completelly flushed out.
I once smoked a phat doob the night before a test and nobody mentionned anything. But that's another story altogether.
Cheers

about 30 days, unless you go to the vitamin store and buy some niacin. that will burn it out a lot faster, enough to pass a pee test. Hair tests can go back for years, however (though most places won't fork over the money for a hair test just to find out whether or not you smoked a few joints 4 years ago)

anyone who told you the time it takes to leave your system is a month or less is stupid and dont know what they talking about. I work for a company that does drug screenings when you get hired and then randomly from then on out. The day before they gave us the drug screening they told us that they check for usage in the past 90 days (they did a hair and urine test). And the factory I work for supplies alot of parts for cars made by GM, Ford, and whichever other one is apart of the top three. So I dont think they would spend all that money on expensive hair testing to just scare us. It takes atleast 3 months.

Between 26 and 32 days depends on how much you smoke and the saturation system in your body.

Awhile. If you have to take a drug test, get some Golden Seal and charcoal. You have to do it about a week before you test though because some employers are catching on to the whole bit.

It kind of depends on the amount that has been smoked and if it is smoked on a regular basis.
