Hmmm. Lessee here.
Boyfriend in prison.
Let's just look at what that says about him.
1. Probably not an upstanding citizen - brings to mind the old mom saying, "Oh, honey, you can do *so* much better."
2. Criminal element - and you want this guy why again?
3. Mr. Right - so you grew up thinking, "When I grow up, I want to marry a guy who screws up and ends up in jail for 8-15!"
To summarize, I think we're here:
The real question is why the *hell* do you want anything more to do with this guy?
HE'S IN PRISON. Doesn't that tell you *something????"

Move on. You deserve better. He's not really worth it, and I'm guessing it can't be good, because he's in prison. Take the next 6 years to move on and find what's better for you. You may find out some interesting stuff. Don't let some man in prison make the decisions for you, besides, WHO'S LOCKED UP?! He is, you're not. Enjoy the fresh air!

How do you know he will be faithful to you during his stretch? Good chance he wont be!
Try replacing him with drugs instead of another man. You can't use booze coz that makes you want it more but perhaps a steady addiction to sedatives could work?
Seriously.. how young are you? If you are under 40, don't waste all of those years on a man who may not want you when he comes out. He may for a while but you can't be sure that you will be together forever. How will you feel if that happens after being faithful then 6months later its all over? If you have to ask us on here, you are not ready for that kind of commitment. That depth of commitment is something you just know and don't have to question at all.

I would move on, find some one who isn't a felon, because life is too short,by waiting on this one you could miss the opportunity to meet a really nice person.

Why should you pay for his wrong doing? Move on. He will have new boyfriends in his new home anyhow. Plus... what make you so certain that IF you wait for him, things will work out between you two once he gets out? You would have WASTED years of your life for nothing.

You already know what everyone will tell you.... Move on... if he's there once he'll be there again.... if he violates probation back in he goes... They say love is blind but in this case it's also stupid.
Make a life and relocate where he can't find you. Find a sweet honest man and be happy.
If I hear, "but I love him" one more timeI'll scream. If you wait for him you will deserve what you get... a life time of misery.

Honestly, if you are in love with this individual you would have no doubts about remaining faithful. I understand it's very difficult to put your life "on hold" for a loved one (my fiancee went to Iraq for 18months), but when it's true, remaining faithful comes naturally.

Are you that desperate to wait for someone for the next six years? Get a life and find someone that doesn't have trouble obeying the law and enjoying your company.
