I would be kinda careful if i were you. I attended university with loads of guys who were "comfortable with their own sexualities"... In other words, "very straight but not narrow". Before we all really knew each other, some of the guys use to flirt with a gay guy who worked in the library, but it was only to make him nervous. As we got to know each other, a couple of them admitted to him that they were straight but they would like to be friends. Yes, straight, open-minded guys also date gays, but not for sex or for forming a relationship, but just as friends.
Another question: Is this other boy aware that you're gay?
Check out groups on campus that pertain to gay rights/groups, etc. Take care of you, cause no one else will. My gay friends say they can tell without asking if another guy is gay.

Well you need to be sure that he is gay, if not you may lose a friend. If you know for sure you just tell him, you don't want to be wondering what could have been.

Ask him if he is gay. Just ask him. Because he might not take it the right way if you just come out and tell him that you like him, if he's straight.
