I need to write a composition/essay && I'd like to know this: when I refer to a title of a book (say, Romeo and Juliet), do I underline or italicize(or both?) the title? Please && thanks for any help!

You could do either one, really. It's up to you. I don't suggest both, though.

All the courses I ever had made me underline the title of a Book, Play, or Poem. Quotes are used for text pulled out of the book, play, or Poem in a word for word quotation.
