This question is mostly for Mets fans like myself, Padre fans (you guys should know how I feel), and any other bitter, hostile individual. When you are watching a possible no-hitter in progress, even if it is at the expense of a hated rival, do you root against it sort of like how Dolphin fans root for every team to lose at least one game every year just so they can maintain at least a shred of dignity?

I've been a die-hard Mets fan since I could remember, but I can't root against a No-No. I know that we have waited the longest to see our first one. But it's different than the Dolphins rooting aginst an undefeated team. Being the last Undefeated team is something to be proud of and something that was accomplish. Being without a No-No isn't.

Even though I'm a Mets fan (bleeding blue and orange) to the bone and have been since 1983, I can't root against a No-No. I tend to enjoy seeing great moments in the game itself as well as rooting for my team. The history of the game is, for me, one of its more alluring aspects. To be honest, and I'll probably get killed for this, but I'd much rather watch a sunny, Sunday afternoon game in Yankee Stadium "The House that Ruth Built than Shea Stadium "King of the Cookie Cutters". So, though I feel your pain of never having a No-hitter with our pitchers name on it and I, like you, have sat through numerous heart wrenching almosts and gut checking not quites, I can't consider myself a fan of game itself without rooting for a No-hitter no matter who throws it.

Unless they are throwing it against us! LET"S GO METS, YAAAA GOTTA BELIEVE!!!!!!!!!

Why wouldn't you? Especially if you are at the game. A no-hitter is a rare historical event so I'm rooting for it every time I go the ballyard.

no. once it's in the 8th inning, I'm hoping to see the no hitter. And I'm a cub fan, so the mets blow.
