If you are using Windoz OS right click on My Computer, select Properties, click on Device Manager, and check your list of devices for a sound card.

Look on the back of the computer and see if has little round jacks that accept a 2.5mm phono plug. If it doesn't have one, then you need a sound card to get sound, obviously.

Does it play any sounds? If it does, you have a sound card.

All it really takes nowadays is going to Walmart and buying a sound card, dropping it into your computer, and hooking it up.
