Dreams
What dreams tonight,
does my mind hold?
When I lay my head down
my fancy grows bold.
Will I fight a lion,
a tiger or a bear?
Vanquish my foes to
save my lady fair?
Become a great pirate,
to sail the seven seas?
Turn into a princess,
who holds the magic keys?
Explore distant lands,
with jungles or snows?
Win wearying races,
by only my nose?
Or will I invent a
new frightful horror?
With goblins and ghosts,
or some unseen terror?
They don’t always make sense,
maybe turn a bit crazy.
I’ll ride planes of green cheese,
grow into a mad daisy.
It’s a chance I must take,
when I lay down to sleep.
Quick close my eyes.
I’ll jump in the deep!
