i`m not American so maybe i`m not qualified to answer but you didn`t say Americans only so here goes first what i would`nt have done if i had suspected Bin Laden i would not have private jetted the whole Bin Laden family out of the states to Saudi the next day while all other flights were grounded this is fact as it was broad cast on British TV
second i would have given the whole thing a lot of serious thought about how to catch the person responsible and set about doing that with out killing countless more innocent people the world felt for America at the time its the questionable actions after that are dividing America from the rest of the world for the most part its the policies not the people but i would have thought it would have been easier to succeed with the rest of the world on my side than with them against me and without all the hatred that's coming from both sides now

I would have continued with the "shock and aw" plan the first night, regardless of Saddam being killed or not (as he was believed to be). I would never have disbanded the Iraqi army. I would have used the Iraqi troops to police the Iraqi people (I believe they Iraqis would accept the presence of their own troops better than ours, and it would greatly decrease the cost of American lives).

I would have been a lot more merciless. If you recall the destruction of Dresden Germany in WWII, you bring the people to their knees, and then help them get back up. Patton said that "No dumb bastard ever won a war by dying for his country, he did it by making the other bastard die for his country".

I believe that Iraq would have gone much smoother had the U.S. followed my strategy (mentioned above) which would have freed up our troops to go in to any other neighboring country (like Iran, Syria, & Lebanon) if they were not supporting the war on Terror. If our army had been attacked by an army, it makes sense to go after that army but instead our innocent civilians were killed. We were sucker punch by a group of extremists who will not stop until everyone has their beliefs. I think it is important that they receive less respect and certainly not an increase of respect.

I feel there is a strong need for freedom of religion and I have no problem with the Muslim religion (nor any other organization which exists to be a positive influence in the lives of it's members). I just think that it is important to target those who are trying to kill us and stop our way of life. I believe that war was the correct choice of action after 9/11. I am an advocate of peace, but there is a time that war is the correct course of action. When you go to war, you go to win!

Norman Schwarzkopf is credited for saying "It is not our job to judge these people, that is God's job. Our job is to arrange the meeting"

(P.S. Both the Patton and the Schwarzkopf quote are quoted from memory and not from the direct source. I believe the original text was quite similar though).

Once I knew whom was responsible (ie al-Queda), I would have had the CIA work with MI6, Mossad, and every intelligence service in the world to find ObL. If necessary, I would have invaded the country which was hiding him (ie Afghanistan) and overthrown it. Then I would have sent in a team of assassins and had ObL killed.

I would not have attacked another country until the first objective was accomplished. I would not have asked the UN for permission to do any of this. And I sure as hell would not have granted a student visa to the spokesman of the Taliban.

Definitely intensify the search for Bin Laden, but never attack Afghanistan randomly or divert the attention starting the war in Iraq

Before that, I'd made damn sure those weapons of mass destruction really were somewhere, and my daddy didn't hold a grudge against Saddam
