Heh..I grew up in arkansas..anyways, try getting a job at walmart or something since they pay a little better. A really good first job would be a cashier position at home depot since they pay around 7-8 bucks an hour which is good for somebody with no experiance.

Mcdonalds will not pay you much but you might get free food..probably not though lol. They're pretty corporate anymore. http://www.hotjobs.com

Look into that. See if you qualify for any customer service/telemarketing jobs..those pay typically a dollar more per hour than retail. Customer service isn't so bad but telemarketing really sucks.

Good luck to ya.

Your idea reeks of comunism. Someone who bettered him self by going to college should make more. If I were going to make the same amount of money no matter how far I climed through the ranks working for the great State of Texas, then why bother. Ambition should be rewarded. Also factor in an 18 year old in theroy could walk in off the street and make as much as a 38 year old with 20 years experience. Another thing, if I could make only the same amount of money no matter what I did, I would not try to own my buisness, which I co-own a side buisness w/ my wife. Under your proposal. No one would take that risk making the same as a no ambition low man on the totem pole job.

I work at a McDonald's in Michigan. I'm retired and they pay me $7.00 a hour. Some of the younger kids get less some more depending on the position they have. Know one girl that worked there for two years and all she got was a .10 cent hour raise. She quit.

It's called skills. If you don't have a skill, you don't get paid as much. I have a friend who is about the same age as me, he did not finish high school, nor did he go to college like I did. He says it's not fair for me to earn so much more than he does. It might not be fair, but I worked and got the qualifications he chose not to. Is that my fault? No. If you had worked hard and gained a marketable skill would you think it is fair to have an unskilled worker making the same money you make? I seriously doubt it.

My nephew worked at McDonald's about 18 mos ago. They were paying him $6.50 an hour. We live in a relatively large metro area so that may be why they paid that well. Sad thing is, the JC Penney here pays just $5.50 an hour. I heard a kid telling another kid this just last month.

About $6 / an hour, but why do you think that the "job sucks"? If you have that attitude not even McDonald's will hire you. You're in Arkansas, why not try Wal-Mart?

it depends on the cost of living in, and the size of your town. if your in a "rich" town or big city, you can expect about $7/hr. if your in a small town dont expect more than min. wage.
