Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp, Al Pacino, Robert Di Niro, Leonardo Di Capario, Jim Carrey, Nick Cage, Russell Crowe, Jack Nicholson, Anthony Hopkins, Brad Pitt, Robin Williams, Mel Gibson, Denzel, Ed Norton. And please I dont want any of the "J Depp is so cute I choose him" judge on there whole career.

Picking from the ones mentioned I like... wow, it's hard to choose.
I like Leonardo Di Caprio in Titanic (laugh all you want), Growing Pains and What's Eating Gilbert Grape?
Jim Carrey in Liar, Liar.
Johnny Depp in Pirates (both of them).
Brad Pitt in Troy and Fight Club.
Robin Williams in TOYS, What Dreams May Come, Hook and Jack.
Ed Norton in Fight Club and American History X.
And not just because some of them might have been good looking. They are really good actors and I think it especially showed in the movies that I mentioned. To me anyways.

Its a toss up between Leonardo Di Caprio and Johnny Depp. I love Johnny Depp and Leonardo Di Caprio in What is Eating Gilbert Grape? Both portray their characters with finness.
All time greatest actor? Hands down Anthony Hopkins.

Personally, I love Johnny Depp the best. He is a Hollywood Chameleon, you never know what role he's going to be in next. One minute he's a pirate loved by women, next minute he's a chocolatier that looks like Michael Jackson. He doesn't pick roles that seem huge, he picks roles that his kids can watch (well, ever since they were born, he has) and ones that interest him. He's a character actor!
I don't see why so many people diss because of that anti-America issue! He only thinks it's a bad place for his kids to grow up, wouldn't they all?

I'm going with either Edward Norton (Primal Fear anyone? wow...that role is intense) or Christian Bale (American Psycho being his best).
Johnny Depp is extremely versatile and a very obvious choice, but I decided to go with the not so obvious here. Although Mr. Depp would round out my top 3 for sure.
