You are mistaken. Only the executive branch, meaning the President, can nominate a justice to the supreme court. The nomination is then debated by the Judiciary Committee which consists of senators from both sides of the house. If the nominee is then met with approval by 2/3 -- I'm not absolutely sure of this figure -- of the membership of this committee it is then brought before the full senate for final confirmation. It is only the Senate, not the House of Representatives which votes on the confirmation of a Supreme Court justice. And don't pay attention to Willis Jeffords. He is only pulling your leg.

A seat on the Supreme Court is an appointed position, done by the Executive branch, confirmed by the Senate, and is a life time appointment.
