Okay, I have OCD and I'm always afraid I'm going to type something that will incite violence. If you type something bad online, can you actually get somebody hurt? Or would you have to try really hard and scheme? I'm so scared, please help.

The internet is like a huge melting pot of people and their opinions. It would be rather difficult to incite violence by just typing something someone wont like. If that were the case then there wouldnt be an internet because no one would be able to express their opinion. I think about the only way to incite violence is by dedicating a website to something hateful, even then it might be difficult.

Believe me if typing something would incite violence on here it would have happened already. You sound like you had OCD bad.
There is meds now to treat that and counseling would be good. No need to live like this if you don't have to.

Since you take every thing so seriously your projecting others also will feel the way you do. Some might but vast majority do not take thing as seriously. Just treat people s you would like to be treated if you were not OCD. You might try reading Guide To Rational Living by Ellis.

Take it from a fellow OCDer. NOTHING you type will cause a problem. No one person has that much power. Use this forum as a place to get away from your OCD, relax and enjoy the fun.

The ony way someone could get hurt would be emotionally and if they take stuff personally on the computer by strangers then they need help anyway. But what the heck do you type??

You're right. It does sound a little stupid, but no more than usual for this site. You can hurt feelings online if you say something rude or insulting, but I don't think you can physically hurt anyone.

Most likely not, because with online games people from all over the country are playing them.Rest assured, unless the people know each other most likely not.

Naw you cannot be responsi=ble for violence on-line as people gerally do what they want. Don't worry about it. The world does not revolve around your actions alone. it takes a combination of things.

It'll only hurt their feelings you can type anything you want except on kid sites you might get banned.

if the people who over see yahoo answers feel that someone could get hurt they would delete the statement or question
