Umm, we dont get upset when u call us homosexuals, that is what we are. We get upset when haters call us homos and queers and fags and dykes because they say it hatefully. Much like when a racist white person call a black person the n word. WE can call each other dykes and queers and fags, but you cant. And, blacks can call each other the n word, we cant.
As far as calling straights breeders, I think there are much worse things one can be called. Live a day in the life of a homosexual and you would understand.

Breeders is new to me! I'm over 50, but homo use to be thrown around as a derogatory slang put down, like the n word. I think that may be the issue. I remember that very well. Every time someone got angry they threw out that word in the old days. I picked up from my daughter the phrase light and dark skinned. I really like that. Because people can be anything. I think it shows respect. I don't know why people stick to black and white, when I would prefer to see us as people, and not color, but shades. I also feel, how does anyone know they are white, people are adopted. I think this idea is just stupid. And if you're a good person, I don't care if you're green, blue or stripped. What difference does it make. I'm sick of it being an issue. I wish we could get away from it. I wrote Oprah about it. But then I'm not proud of what whites have done in history, nor the Germans. I just do my best. And try to get to know people by their actions. I don't agree with marrying off kids like some religions do, and I don't agree with tearing people down, when they aren't hurting someone. Now if you hurt someone, I'm not sitting still.

As with everything, it is not the words, it is the intention behind the words.
I don't call straight people breeders. I call them by their names.
I call my parents "mum" and "dad".
I don't resent the term "homosexual" because that is what I am. I don't get angry at all, because it is not an offensive word as such. But it depends on the context it is used in.
You have made an enormous generalisation in assuming all gays react the same way.

"Homosexual" is somewhat of an outdated term. Some people are offended by it because it was first used by straight people to talk about the "disease" of same-gender-loving. Not all gay people use "breeder". Those that do are essentially creating a slur to throw back when a heterosexual throws any of the NUMBEROUS anti-queer slurs at them. And I don't blame them. Personally, I feel I could probably get behind it more if it wasn't just about procreation.
All in all, I'm not a fan unless it's a joke between me and my straight friends.

I've never heard a gay refer to straights as "breeders." As for the rest of your question:
gay=men into men
lesbian=women into women
bisexual=into men and women
transgender/transexual=Man/Woman trapped in wrong body
These are the terms most commonly used. Homosexual is a very broad term.

looksadpapers has the right answer, I rarely get offended with the "homosexual" term. But if it's used in an inappropriate manor then it bothers me. I don't use the term breeder, because i don't like to be categorized.

I don't use the term "breeder" and I don't know anyone who does. besides which....a lot of us can and do "breed" ourselves!
I don't resent the term homosexual, either. it doesn't make me angry. it's who I am. so, quit generalizing/stereotyping, because we don't' "all" feel that way! it's the nasty slang terms that people hurl at us that are offensive. I don't think I need to print those here.

well, 'breeders' is a term used to describe who have the hetero-normative sexual preference for the opposite sex. In using this word, gay people are parodying the institutionalized tradition of 'family values' as a way of diffusing entrenched homophobia.
You heterosexuals have power. We do not. Let us have the word 'breeder'. It's a light-hearted version of '*****'. Big deal.

i dont know of any homosexuals who have a problem being called homosexual. I am one and it sure doesnt bother me. As for "breeders" its a humorous term, its not anywhere near as horrible as some terms we have been called.

First, the word used was homo, not homosexual. You want respect, breeder, you show respect. You pop off with a backhand slang term, expect the same.
