my boyfreind of 7 months insists on paying for everything. i can understand when he asks me out for dinner or something special he would like to treat me, but he cant afford to pay for everything. Anytime i am with him and i need to pay for something, he insists on taking care of it for me. how can i contribute money to the relationship without making him feel like i dont appreciate it when he pays for me, or starting an argument?

My past boyfriend was like this. I loved him for it but I would never offend him by trying to pay. I would plan secret dates and trips and buy tickets in advance etc, so he would know I was paying. Plus he loved being surprised by me taking him out. Because he paid so much, in the times I planned things, I tried to make them unforgettable and plan an entire day (and I would drive). Hope my experience gives you an idea of what to do.

OK be a female be sneaky when you go somewhere on your own which i do hope you have time alone and go and buy stuff for him or if you guys live together buy things for the house or when he is at work buy him a lunch or dinner and bring it to him and if he offers to pay you back be like no that you thought of him and you wanted to do something nice for him and that you want to be able to show him how you feel not by money but just by thinking of him....

It's certainly far enough into the relationship that you can ASK him out and you choose the activity or restaurant..make it clear that this is your date and won't allow him to pick up the tab...After a few dates on you he might even be open to splitting most bills so the two of you are more able to dine out much more often without it being a burden on either of you..If need be show him these answers and your remarks on your choice of the best answer..

Try to slip some money in his wallet when he is doing something. or tell him you want to give him a surprise and buy him thing that he wants tell him he deserves it.
