I've had a horrible scalp problem for over 5 or 6 years.
The back of my head on the scalp stays red and inflammed, and covered with white dry flaky scales. It itches so bad that I have to scratch it alot and it bleeds ALOT.
I have been to three different dermotologists and they have all said that it is dermatitis, or cradle cap. I have used Selsun Blue, T-Gel, Derma-Smoothe FS, the prescription Selsun Blue, 6 different prescription oils and lotions, and tons of other products.

Nothing helps, please help me! I think it is psoriasis, but has anyone else had this and is that what it was?

I have VERY long brown hair, so the flakes show really bad.
I'm not looking for a miracle cure, just something that helps with the itch. I have used everything under the sun, each for a long period of time, and nothing has helped. I'm running out of options, and I'm getting tired of scratching my head all the time!

I had the same problem, and I used T-Gel. it took a little while, but it eventaully worked.

None of these products work over night, give it some time.

It might be a hormonal thing, puberty or something. Keep seeing doctors, and eventually you'll figure something out.

Have the dermatologists done any tests? I would think a test for a fungal infection might be a good idea.

I know this won't be a popular suggestion, but if my head itched that badly, I would shave my head and try some different lotions like an anti-fungal cream or gold bond lotion. The reason I say I would shave my head is so the medication can be in contact with the skin instead of just getting in my hair. You can buy a wig to cover your head for a while. Also, with the hair out of the way, the dermatologist can see more clearly and might have a better idea of what is wrong. But that's just me...
