Out of the two actors which is the better actor? Both have had there good and bad films. Though Di Capario hasnt had a ton of work recently and Depp has just got done with Pirates. Base it on there whole careers.

Neither is better. They're both superb actors. Just watch them together in Gilbert Grape...fabulous! They can't be compared for best talent....only for unique style (Johnny) and desirable role (Johnny). As for overall appeal, it's Johnny hands down...he's hot hot hot.

While I like both actors, I would say Johnny Depp is the better actor. Perhaps because he's more experienced?

Both have sold out. I just saw Johnny Depp in his pirate costume on a bag of M&M's and I thought, "Dude, how can you let them do this?" He once stood for quality and sophistication in film. Now he's just part of the Hollywood blockbuster machine. Laughing all the way to the bank, I suppose, but what did he sell to get his fortune? If I had to choose ONE for superior acting, I think I would have to give it to DiCaprio for his BRILLIANT performance as the retarded teenage boy in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape," in which Depp incidentally had the leading role. I had never heard of DiCaprio when I saw that, and his acting knocked my socks off. I am a special ed teacher, and I have worked with mentally retarded children before. DiCaprio nailed it with exquisite skill and sensitivity.

Johnny Depp all the way. But as another person here said, watching the two of them in What's Eating Gilbert Grape? was awesome. They were perfect for those parts!

Johnny Depp hands down. His characters are not dry like Leo. Plus there is more of a variety in Johnny Depp's characters then Leo. Johnny is hot!

I would say depp. BUT if you have ever seen whats eating gilbert grape, it blows me away with the 2 of them together.
Depp picks these wacky roles that I love. I think leo disappeared after Titanic for a while cause it was crazy but when he came back and he did gangs of new york, I was like ooookay.
Im really happy to see that hes working with jack nicholson too but over all I would say depp

I think if you asking about acting, Leonardo is no match for Johny Depp. Depp has done a variety of roles with very good performances.

Johnny Depp hands down. Both do have a depth to their work, but JP is just out there. He can make any movie great. Leo is a little more lightweight. Time will tell on him.
