A friend of mine is pregnant with her first child and is somewhat concerned with stretch marks. We've all heard that cocoa butter helps, but I was wondering if anyone knew of something or used something that prevented stretch marks or helped them appear lighter?

I had a question like this a couple of days ago...nothing heals them completely once you get them but you can prevent them...You can use Cocoa and shea butter lotions...like 4 dollars at wally world and every night or morning after you get out of the shower rub it all over your body including arms and legs to prevent..some ppl are gonna freak out when i say HEMP. lol but hemp. lotions work too...yea yea it does have marijuana in it but its does not contain T.H.C...the stuff that gets you high so it doesnt hurt you...but it does work wonders...i use them both and I have kept them away so far..good luck hope I helped.

Lotion up all the time, I used Palmer's massage cream for stretch marks a couple times a day . I put on 70 pounds and didn't get one stretch mark. However make sure to use it during the weight lose period after the baby is born. Because after I lost some of the weight I got 2 small stretch marks. I started using the lotion again and didn't get anymore. I found it weird that I didn't get any from weight gain but got some from weight loss.

I have been using generic CVS brand cocoa butter. Seems to be doing the trick, no stretch marks yet. Cost me like $3.

There are lotions that contain shea butter and cocoa butter, they work really good together to help make stretch marks appear invisible. If that doesn't work there is a stretch masrk remover that avon sells, that i head works really well.

Yes palmars coco butter works I used it my whole pregnancy and i have no stretch marks but you have to use it every single day even after your pregnancy i used it for a month after also. You don't want to wait till you get them either I started using it before i started to show it works believe me.

I don't know if you have a Bath and Body Works around you. But, I know they started carrying a line for pregnant women and their bodies. They have stretch mark cream, etc. I would tell your friend to check that out.

STRVECTIN-SD. It's pricey, but should minimize the signs of stretch marks. U can buy it in department stores or drugs stores. But they are hereditary, so if her mother had them, then she probably can't avoid them all the way!

All I know is Palmers Coca Butter.

Not everyone gets them, though.
