Could be herpes simplex....next time, although I am not a doctor, I knew a woman that did this, if it IS simplex, poke it gently enough with a burned (sterile) pin, then rub tea tree oil on it so it doesn't spread. Worked for her, and the person who told her about it. Although directions say NOT to use on open sores, they do it and it works.

to get the swelling down, you should try using a cold pack. But if you want to sooth the popped pimple, you should use a hot wash cloth. That will also draw out any other puss left behind. You have two options here, if you wanna do both i would say use the hot washcloth first....approximately 10 minutes for that....when the wash cloth start cooling down, run hot water over it again. Once that is done, place the ice pack in the pimple to reduce the swelling.

Just don't burn yourself! after running the washcloth under the hot watter wait a second or two so its not scalding hot! good luck.

You shouldn't really pop pimples, because infection can set in.
Try putting Neo-sporin on during the day and before you go to bed try hydrogen peroxide and then Neo sporin. The hydrogen peroxide might help to speed the drying process. But if you are a girl, stay away from the make up. It is not steril and might make things worse if you are a sensative person.

Have it drained and cultured. It could be a type of infection that your antibiotic doesn't help. The only way to know is to have a culture and sensitivity of the drainage.
