Go with Asia. Mesopotamia was between the Tigris and Euphrates River in southern Iraq, which, of course, is in Asia. That area is also known as the "fertile crescent" and as the "cradle of civilization."

I guess the area is more fertile than much of what surrounds it, but it doesn't look like much compared to U.S. Midwest standards. Agriculture was good enough to allow specialization of employment and, thus, civilization to develop.

That's why the looting of the Baghdad museum during the Iraq invasion was so unfortunate. Many very, very ancient artifacts were lost to criminals.

Mesopotamia was actually located in modern day Iraq. It was the land in between the Tigris and Euphretes Rivers. So to answer your question, its where ever Iraq is. ( I just realized i never knew which continent Iraq was on...)
