Erosion occurs when the soil is carried away by the forces of the flowing water. Water flowing down seeks the lowest area to flow into. It focuses its power there, and erosion results. By leveling an area, and blocking the flow of water into low lying areas, erosion can be reduced or stopped.
Top soil is a valuable resource that is being washed away or blown away by the wind. Erosion is a danger to stable, successful farming.
;-D Design the land with erosion in mind, and live a long and prosperous life.

They continually wash silt, sand, rocks away as the water cuts through, in flood the effect is more dramatic. Water, the universal solvent, cuts through plains to make valleys, given time; check out the Grand Canyon for some real erosion.

first of all sweetie...this is not social science...just think of the water picking up little pieces of dirt and taking it along as it goes...if there is a "U" in the water it is going to hit the round part of the "u" harder and pound the wall thus erodiing it even more.
