I just got my cell phone bill and it was like $115 for text messages. Does it use a text message everytime you sign in or refresh your buddy list? It said i used like over 1000 and i know iprobly only used 150 or so. Some please explain this too me.

Wow, no wonder carriers package txt msgs in 500s (500, 1000, 2000).

According to my carrier, Verizon Wireless, all IMs sent or received count as txt msgs. Yes, the act of signing on or refreshing your Buddy List also count.

It happend to me too. My phone carrier told me it charges IM's as Text Messages.
