This was me and my husbands first month trying to conceive. I used the First Response ovulation detector just to make sure that we were getting the timing right We had intercourse a couple of days before ovulation, around the day of ovulaion, and a day or two after ovulation. I'm so excited at the thought of being pregnant but I know that sometimes it just takes a while. Has anyone done the same things as us while trying to conceive? Either way, how long were you trying before you became pregnant? Thanks for your help!

You're doing the right thing with the timing of sex before and after ovulation. It took me 5 months to get pregnant but only the last 2 months, I used ovulation tests. My ob said that I could ovulate late in my cycle, right before my period, which was preventing me from getting pregnant in the previous months. You're on the right track.

Well we are still trying, but my husband has a fertility issue. But yes we have used the ovulation detectors, but once you figure out when you ovulate each month then you won't neccessarily have to buy those anymore, cause they can get expensive month after month if it don't happen right off. Good luck to you and your husband. But they do help in getting you started on finding what time of the month you ovulate.

WIth both of mine it was within the 1st month, right after my period ended the 14 days after we had sex everyday and then I was pregnant. Also I was on birth control pills prior too so. Now I am having a little harder time for my third. Best of Luck...
