The U.S. population in 1990 was approximately 250 million, and the average growth
rate for the past 30 years gives a doubling time of 66 years. The above formula for the
United States then becomes
P (in millions) = 250 times 2( y-1990)/66

What will the population of the United States be in 2025 if this
growth rate continues?

Plug 2025 in the equation for y
subtract within the parethesis
divide out the exponent
multiply 2 by the exponent
multiply by 250

P=250*2^(2025-1990)/66
P=250*2^35/66
P=250*2^.53
P=250*1.44363
360.9075

probably less then the given answers as the 'baby boom' period is over and most familys only have one or two kids
