Your coin is listed as KM-921 in The Standard Catalog of World Coins. It is a 25 new pence commemorating the Queen Mother's 80th birthday. It is made of copper-nickel and was a circulating coin. There is another version of this coin in silver KM-921 and that is silver, however this coin is a proof. In other words the coin has a mirror finish and is well struck. Compare a new coin to it,one with mint luster, if your coin is a proof it will stick right out. KM-921 sells for a few dollars but the proof sells for around $40.00
