Why do telenovela always have white hispanics portraying every character?

how come there's not a multitude of hispanics? the telenovelas and tv stations are sending out a bad message: white is beautiful and black is ugly. That's wrong. beauty is everywhere, beauty is not racial.

White hispanics... I think you mean "rubias". I agree with you though, but I guess network executives or whatever they're called, think that this image is more appealing to the general audience. Let's just hope that it doesn't get too out of hand; some girls of Mexican/Latin/Hispanic heritage that I know at my school are dying their hair blond... people of all races and ethnicity should be proud of who they are! Your message is strong; beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and there shouldn't be drastic changes to alter one's appearance. You go, girl!

That's very interesting. I'm not Hispanic but I have noticed it too.
Virtually all of the characters in those "soaps" as well as the news anchors, talk show hosts, game show hosts, etc. are white. Seldom does one see a mestizo, let alone a black. What I find hypocritical is that if many of those white Hispanics were to come into the U.S. market, they would probably get jobs based on their ethnicity, as though being Hispanic and white were somehow mutually exclusive, and shamelessly take advantage of it. Sinverguenzas!
