Today, I found out that my twenty-six year old daughter is a liberal. I was horrified. She spouts crap like "equal rights for gays," "But it's the mothers body! (on abortion)" and "healthcare is a right, not a privelege."
I am looking for someone to tell me how I can reeducate my daughter to come to compassionate conservativism.

Well I think 26 is a little old for you to be trying to tell her what she can and can't think.

Well, I am moderately conservative, but I think that you should let your daughter believe what she will, she's a big girl now. She may learn in time.
However, I am pro-life because it is *not* the mother's body, it is the unborn baby's

So let's see-- you would rather have a daughter that takes your opinions crammed down her throat instead of thinking for herself? yeah, that makes alot of sense-- Gee, I thought conservatives were all about personal responsibility-- well, thinking for yourself is taking personal responsibility. Besides, as a parent, let me tell you, 26 yr old daughter is not going to just take your word for it.
How about having a reasonable discussion on the topics instead of trying to brainwash her?
Compassionate conservatism is an oxymoron anyway.
(I find it hilarious that many of us made this comment- I didn't even see it in prev. responses)

Sorry, I don't think they can be brought back. It is not your fault, so don't feel guilty. All you can do is keep being a conservative, and she will come around eventually (maybe). But the longer they liberal, the loster they become. If she doesn't snap out of it by age thirty, then it is too late. Buy your- self a big screen and tune her out if she starts trying to convert you.

You know what I say? Its her life. Deal with it. I support equal rights for gays... THEY ARE PEOPLE TOO! Geez. She is your daughter. Accept who she is and move on. Try to be a good Dad for once.
