I think a lot of people just don't care and don't think it's their responsibility to help or contribute to maintaining a healthy environment for the future. It's about the present for most people, nobody looks toward the future - so as long as people are "comfortable" now with the environment, they are content with living with it the way it is.

Greed and self-interest along with ignorance by choice. It's like putting your hands over your ears and going la la la so you don't have to hear the truth. Truth is sooo damn inconvenient!

I wish I knew. I guess people only live in the here and now and don't have a thought about future generations or how they are corrupting their earth.
