I never changed any of the settings on the page, or add any additional buttons to be displayed. I also cannot find any link to click on that will have each page revert back to the settings that were initially in place when I bough tthe computer.

All you have to do is Right click in the empty space next to your toolbar buttons (usually on the right side of your screen), point to "Address Bar" and click on it.
That's all there is too it.

are you talking about the address bar? if so, go to view, click toolbars and click address bar.

right click on the area in question and pick the tool bar option that shows the url
