I am 19 wks pregnant and I'm prone to UTI's, my doc has decided to put me on Ceclor, a pregnancy class 'b' antibiotic for the rest of my pregnancy. It makes me kind of nervous to take any medications during pregnancy, especially for that long but according to my doc it won't harm the baby. I know that an untreated UTI during pregnancy could lead to kidney infections and possibly premature labor. Has anyone else had to be on antibiotics throughout their pregnancy or for the entire time?? I just want comfort in knowing that other people's baby's turned out okay.

Its okey. I had to keep taking them for things other than a UTI and my son turned out PERFECT. Just be extra careful when you clean yourself after you go potty. I would get a squirt bottle to 'rinse' after you go, to help prevent UTI's and any other infections. And pat dry after wards. But don't be afraid of meds your doc gives you. Good luck!

Hello, yes i was on a muscle relaxer flexerall which is not an antibiotic but a class b drug from my 16th week up to now.I had twins and they are perfect i went full term and no complications. I know you worry but your doctor will not let you put your baby in danger.Yes some of the drug will pass the placenta but not a n amount large enough to harm your baby. You will be just fine sweetie, your not doing street drugs or drinking and your doctor has advised you so you shouldn't worry.I wish you the best.

My obgyn wanted to have me on antibiotics through my pregnancy because I have a skin infection from swimming in a pool. But my family doctor who I trust with my life told me not to take an antibiotic because the baby could become immune to antibiotics because of it. So I myself won't take it. But it's all personally preference I guess.

i'm on antibiotics right now for the same thing. mine are only for a week though. they're fine to take, i'm sure or they wouldnt prescribe them but i do understand your concern, i called the pharmacy to ask if they were safe to take during pregnancy even though the Dr that prescribed them to me was the one that told me i was pregnant..lol. no such thing in being too cautious when it comes to our unborn ones. good luck to u!

I had to take antibiotics but not througout my entire pregnancy and my baby was fine. If your doctor is letting you take it that means that it is safe. Do not worry about it..

Are you able to take your prenantal pills? If yes, take that too..

(Good Luck)!!!!
