Will they fight each other?

No, they will not fight each other! I have seen tanks with as many as 30 females in them. One or two may do some chasing, but, as a rule, the females are not agressive.

The males will only fight with other males! Yes, it is true, they are not bloodthirsty killers like all the ADD people believe. They are actually shy and usually get picked on by other agressive fish such as barbs and some of the larger tetras.

Betta is pronounced bet-tah, not bay-tah. Two t's make the e short!

Beta (bay-tah) is the second letter of the Greek alphabet....

8 in the corner, and the others have seen obviously seen breeders all female tanks. This generally only works with females that have been raised together. If you can get females use to community living they will likely get a long fairly well. Random store bought female bettas need a bit more room. I'd avoid putting them more than 1 per 5-10 gallons. They will fight, but after a week or so they generally work out a pecking order.

Also keep in mind that adding or removing betta can trigger a violent reordering of the pecking order. Also as I recently discovered avoid putting your female tank within sight of a male tank/bowl. The females get all worked up, and beat each other up.

They will work out their own territories so they will only fight for a little while. If your tank is 10 gallons or less, you are better off with three female bettas so the same one doesn't always get picked on, or killifish (which look a lot like female bettas).

Yes, female betta can actually be put into a community tank with semi aggressive types of fish in as well. They are somewhat territorial, but will live quite well together with many types of fish.

The male bettas are the ones that need to be kept separated.

Two females will usually not fight, but make sure they have enough room to each stake out a spot of their own in the tank...

I have 2 girl bettas and I wouldn't recommend putting them together. They still fight just as bad as the boys. My sis actually lost 2 girls that way.

Actually, you can. But they can become territorial. Here's a great website by a betta breeder.
