yes he died, they haven't really said what happened except that it may involve methadone (drug that they give to recovering heroin addicts)
a friend of mine died from mixing methadone and alcohol so it could have been something like that

People magazine is reporting Anna Nicole Smith's son died of a lethal combination of drugs which gave him an irregular heart beat.
Cyril Wecht, who was hired by Anna Nicole to look into her son's Sept. 10 death, says Daniel Smith died from a combination of methadone, Zoloft and Lexapro that led to cardiac dysrhythmia

He's been dead for almost 3 weeks. He died suddenly in Nicole's hospital room a few days after Nicole gave birth to a new baby.
A private autopsy was just done, which revealed that he had ingested Zoloft, Lexapro, and Methadone, and there was a drug-interaction that caused the death. Zoloft and Lexapro are anti-depressants, but methadone is a narcotic pain killer.

Daniel Smith died on September 10th from what they just recovered was an accidental lethal combination of methadone and two antidepressants. They knew he was taking a low dose of antidepressants since he had a hard break-up with his ex-girlfriend but don't know where or why the methadone was in his system.

yes he is dead.died three days after anna gave birth to her daughter they believe he died from taking methadone and an antidepressant together. they also believe he was taking the methadone for back pain and not an addiction.

Yes, this is true. He died. He was 20 years old and apparently had a fatal mix of methadone (a drug to wean from heroin) and antidepressants. I don't know if it was intentional or not.
