So many questions get posted that are obviously someone's homework problem. And people just answer the question!

If you know the answer, why are you doing the work for someone else who should? At least explain what you're doing so some learning can come out of it. When I was young, you were a chump to do someone else's work for free. Maybe today people are comfortable with that?

I agree. My children are 24 & 20 and I used to make them use a dictionary and the libray. Yes, I would help them--only be encouraging them to ask questions and showing them ways to find the answer on their own. And good ole 'spellcheck' what a robbery from finding the right word and meaning yourself.

Technology is the future, however, if one does not know how to think something out we all become blubberring robots.

I heard a recent survey that said fully ONE THIRD of all High School students cheat. I don't know how accurate this is (It just may be MORE!), but I do know that this goes on quite a bit, and that's because in our "Instant EVERYTHING" society, people have become LAZY! That word "work", or in this case "study", has become like some kind of foreign curse word! But it is still HARD WORK that gets the job done! And besides the fact that it is morally WRONG to try and succeed off of OTHERS efforts rather than YOUR OWN, there is really NO lasting satisfaction from being slothful and deceptive! Eventually, it comes back to bite you according to the law of "sowing and reaping". You feel a great EMPTINESS inside realizing what a FRAUD you are, and then you yourself become victimized by OTHERS doing the same thing to YOU! What good is it to take the credit for something you really had NOTHING to do with other than the convenient "theft" of information! You didn't EARN it, therefore, isn't that in a sense "stealing"?

Personally I sympathize, many times I get stuck late at night and have no one to ask. Usually i search wiki, but if someone is doing the same thing and can point you in the direction of the answer, or better give you the answer it becomes a tool. Especially if when you answer a question you do it off the top of your head. I just do it because I'm a nice guy.

At least the kid is doing his/her homework. I've asked for help on Hw on this before but it wasnt because I was lazy, I usually asked after the help from text/notes or friends arnt usefull. And I always ask for a explanation...or I'm screwed in class and otherwise I obviously wouldnt learn anything.
Running about criticizing people who ask for help makes you the chump.

It doesn't matter if you do their homework for them or not. The fact remains that they are so stupid, and lazy to do it themselves. The way I see it is it there lost. In the near future they the ones who lose out. In some maths answers I knew dam well they copy it and bring it to school. But any teacher will know that their student didn't produce the work themselves.

It'd be really silly and pretty close to stupid to take your homework answers from a group of strangers on Yahoo Answers. You could never know which is the right answer unless you do the work yourself.'

Because people get points that way and feel smarter. And even though they are homework questions they are a lot better than most questions posted here.

probably because people like getting points, and the homework questions are usually easier to answer than other ones.

students have questions whose answers are graded by teachers

adults have questions whose answers are graded by peers

you need to go that
"yahoo!answersadults" site
where you have to provide id
and prove you are over 21

that way
you can make sure that
no "students"
are trying to
chump you
