My son started to do the same thing. Ask you doctor first before doing this, but it worked for me. Get some Nestle Good Start Soy Formula and give her one or two bottles and then give her the regular stuff for the rest of the day, or switch all together. Every baby is different, but my son will usually have a bowel movement if I do the switch just for one or two feedings.

My daughter is on Isomil Advance as well.
For the first couple of months ( Until she was about 3 months old actually) we had a lot of trouble with constipation as well. She would only go once a day or even skip a day. The doctor told us to give her juice. I didn't really want to give her juice that early, but I didn't feel I had any choice. So I just watered the juice down by 50 percent (50 percent water, 50 percent juice.) If you REALLY don't want to try juice the doctor also suggested extra water-- but my daughter didn't want to drink water plain-- so juice it was.

Sweetie,How much iron does it have in it some times its hard on a baby system even though they do need it to a certain extend. What i did with both my boys was Karo syrup in there bottles u can put it in one a day or every other day what ever helps her .since she is probably not drinking much at a time.i would use only a half a teaspoon at first and see if it helps.u just add it right in the bottle of formula.

My daughter is 7 weeks old and she is on Enfamil. She poops only once a day and its usually kind of like a rock haha. She pushes all the time too. I heard you could give them a little water but i wouldnt recommend it, i think you should ask your doctor.

Once a day is good! At that age our daughter, who is on regular Similac, was going once maybe every 3-4 days and that was with help!
Consult your pediatrician before trying anything! That being said... our ped told us to give her a mix of 1 ounce of water with 1 ounce of prune juice. It didn't do anything! He also recommended that we try infant suppositories... one cut in half longways. We had to give her those once every few days until she was 5 1/2 months old. That was when she started on solids (very runny cereal at first). She soon started going just about every day without help. She's been going help-free since then.
Call your pediatrician befoer trying any suggestions that you are given. You could just be told that once a day is plenty!

My son pooped like 5 times a day at that age, but my daughter pooped about once a week, and she was fine. Every baby is different (although mine were still breastfed at that age).
My pediatrician advised me that unless her BMs are like little pebbles, she's not constipated, so it sounds like your daughter is fine as well.
Probably best to discuss this with your pediatrician if you are still concerned...

ok here is what I did with my daughter till she was 9 months and it worked like a charm 1 tsp karo syrup to 8 oz formula it works wonderful and u can get it at any grocery store or walmart it is completely safe. It will loosen things up but not make it runny , usually when they start fruits or juice this willl subside. otherwise maybe switch the formula to alimentum its expecive but easy digestible this is what I gave my son when he had stool problems and it cured him. good Luck

Because the iron in the formula causes straining you may want to put a little mineral oil in his bottle to soften his stools. And cut back some on the formula.

My mom said she used to give me mineral oil too to help me poop as a baby. Just a tiny bit, maybe about 1/2 ml.

Mineral oil is the most natural solution for your baby...HOWEVER... being only 4 weeks old DON'T give her anything without talking to your doctor.
