I needed to totally wipe their hard drive. After I was finished they told me that they didn't have any sort of back up disk or disks for their device drivers. The devices listed in the device manager as having no drivers are:

Multimedia audio controller
PCI simple communications controller
SM bus controller
Video Controller (VGA compatable)

Anyone have any ideas as to where I can find drivers?

They have no documentation for their computer either so I have nothing other than the computer tower and a copy of windows xp.

Hey,

You could get more of the specs about their computer, if you download "everest home edition" it tells you all about your computer. If you liked my post please choose it, thanks. I sure do think this should help.

Imaginary disk..Which calls as Via Raid Tools , the imaginary disk copy all your computer program as well as o/s thereafter you can wipe your hard drive the other way is before you wipe out the hard drive. The devices you listed can be upgraded by clicking the properties and than click upgrade the driver,if fails you need to be a mfrs disc.

Can you get internet connection? If so, go to Windows update (assuming your using Windows). It will attempt to look up all the drivers you need and install them. Thats the easiest way. If they have a CD that came with the computer it should also have the right drivers.

You will need to either use a device profiler or hope that it is newer so that windows will tell you the name of the company and the model of the device. After you do that go to http://www.driverguide.com and they should have the driver if its older. if its newer go to the manufactor website and they will have it.
