I wouldn't... but I know a lady from Scotland who does. She has a 3 year old son who is perfectly healthy. I don't know if this child she is now pregnant with is "okay" because she still has a month to go before she's due.

Yikes! That's the first time i've ever heard that advice...especially coming from an OBGYN. There hasn't been enough evidence that ANY amount of alcohol is safe during pregnancy, this is why MOST ( I thought ALL until now) doctors and OBS advise pregnant women not to consume any alcohol at all. Better safe than sory I say! Good luck! :)

Yes and it is okay. I had an anxiety attck when I was pregnant with our daughter I thought i was having a heart attack so my husband took me to ER. After my obgyn looked at the results he explained to me that it was just stress and calm me down and relax I could drink a glass of red wine I was told every night. I didnt do it every night just nights that I came home from work really stressed and I just wanted to relax and sleep all night. You are not going to hurt baby my baby girl was 100% healthy and stayed that way.

Do you really want to gamble with your babies health? FAS (Fetal Alcohol Syndrom) Can be deadly. Just because a study this week says it's ok to consume wine, doesn't mean it's safe. Alcohol has already been proven to be dangerous to unborn babies.

after so long it wont hurt the babys brain development but you risk having a preme. the only reason its good is for the antioxidants in it and there is more in cranberry juice and pomegranite juice than in wine. when he says once a week he means when everyone else around you is drinking and you want to be cool too

I have heard of this. I know that they also say that in Europe. I personally wasn't comfortable with drinking so I didn't. I've heard bad things about women who drank too much. That was mostly in the first tri-mester when everything is so fragile.

I've heard this many times... I think its ok infrequently where your Blood Alcohol Content stay low (like 0.05 low)... I think most people I know don't mess with that... why play that guessing game with your baby?

Plus, a slight buzz may annoy and remind you of what you really can't do.
