I think our servicemen and women are grossly underpaid. I also feel that if you have enlisted of your own free will, and if you make it back home safely after your tour that the government should give you a clean slate. They should pay off any and all debt you may have, they should pay your utilities for a year, they should buy you groceries for a year, they should also pay whatever car payment you have for a year. It's a huge thing to defend your country and I for one don't think I could. My hat goes off to those men and women, God bless each and every one of them and their families who must endure while their loved one is away fighting for a country that will forget them when they return.

even the generals are underpaid...a well paid general gets a few times more than a grunt, a CEO easily gets a hundred times (sometimes hundred thousand times) more than a general. For selling basically your body to said armed service, and putting your *** on the line at war (and probably losing your day job, girlfriend wife and kids, that **** happens a lot) these guys seriously need a pay raise. To bad they can't use it until they get off service (at least most of your stuff is paid for while on base or active duty)

Underedpaid....24 hrs a day 7 days a week for 9+ months straight. There benefits are good though. Ask a Vietnam Vet for his opinion and you'll get an ear full.
