I believe if not the worst. He is certainly one of the worst.

He's certainly trying.

I still think Nixon was more blatantly ignoring Constitutional
separation of powers than Bush has to date. From what we
can see, Bush is doing it secretly...

Personally, I think Reagan was one of the worst we had
but I usually get a lot of flack for it. He gave us Neo-Cons,
sound-bite journalism and really made being intellectual
a stigma in politics.

"Well, now, there you go again..."

No, he did not end the cold war. His tough talk may have
hastened the bankruptcy of the Soviet Union, but his increased
tension almost got us all blown off the face of the map. Look
up "Stanislov Petrov" for more information on that.

However, the only thing we can really stick on the teflon
President is Iran-Contra, which is paltry compared to Nixon's
enemies list and blatant manipulation of the FBI, etc.

I guess I fault Bush mostly for his violations of the law
(lying to Congress about knowing about weapons of
mass destruction is perjury, etc), but right up there after
that is the idea that he extends Reaganism into the 21st
century.

I really don't want people who have no sense of world
history continuing to run this country. We can't be that
isolationist any more ... and if we're going to invade other
countries, we should at least head the warnings of others
who have tried to control those same people in the past
(France in Iraq, etc.)

So ... "worst"? Well, you could argue that Hoover did nothing
to stop the great recession ... but it wasn't criminal (at least
that we know of) ...

It really depends on how you define "worst".

Of course he isn't the worst.
You may disagree with him, and he has certainly had some errors of judgment, but he has also had a very difficult set of problems to deal with (9/11 and Katrina being two big ones), plus the press has become ever more difficult to deal with as we are subjected to constant news and opinion and everyone second-guesses whoever is in power.

In a quieter time (such as Clinton's 8 years, or Eisenhower's 8 years), you might not have had such strong feelings about this President's performance, but under the circumstances, everyone seems to believe he could have done a better job that George W.

A worse President? How about Harding, Grant, Andrew Johnson, Fillmore, Buchanan? (I'll stay away from Presidents of the last 50 years, since there are strong feelings on both sides about them.)

I can't believe people are actually listing Jimmy Carter as worst president when he has to compete with the likes of Franklin Pierce and James Buchanan (who did nothing to stop the Civil War), Andrew Johnson (who screwed up reconstruction), and Warren G Harding (who boasted the most corrupt administration in history).

Yes , What I have been saying about the war in Iraq is true. Terrorism world wide has increased because of the war .
Where are the weapons of mass destruction ?
What does the average American care about freedom in Iraq ?
We sold Saddam weapons ! Saddam was bad , but America is sticking its nose into places it should not . If you want to choke someone out you do it quietly, you do it when they least expect it.
Like a cat stalking its prey . Or you overwhelm them and bomb the whole thing unstoppingly, they are already killing innocent people so what do they care. This war is draining our land of funds. Its killing innocent people there and young men and women from here. Its death and money and that is it. If its about stopping terrorism it isn't . If its about taking more American culture and society there , it may achieve that . But its bound to cause more trouble. Like stirring the embers something is bound to catch fire and has the potential to explode.

So your asserting Bush is the genuine reason we are... What? the place are you getting your information guy? For gods sake. The media is in simple terms infamous for bobbing up subject concerns. yet those numbers teach an obtrusive distinction between a pretender and a genuine "decider".

Yes, I am afraid he is the worst in history. We will all pay the price for the delusional 50% of the population who elected (or maybe 48%) him.
