I gazed around at the view before me, shaded by the outside world, in the grove I felt safe. The corners of my vision blurred as I was exposed to patches of the burning ball of fire. I tried to think of the comforting flame again but for some reason the more I tried to recall the less I remembered. Suddenly for no apparent reason I felt a sharp jolt in every joint and muscle in my body. I awoke in a grey, confusing world knee deep a viscous, grimy substance that almost immediately made feel a hundred pounds heavier. The memory of the comforting flame, the tasty peach the ecstasy of color was now just that; a fond memory of things passed too long ago. And now that warmth that comfort was little more than a spiteful burn.

Soon the doe gracefully walked on while her two charges followed. Even though I had sat motionless during this event, I thought it was possible the doe had detected a foreign scent in this otherwise peaceful haven.

Personally, I don't get it, so I can't very well elaborate on it even to have it make some sense.
